Business angels back Curvo’s vision to improve the financial wellbeing of the next generation of Europeans with €500,000 seed funding
Curvo, an innovative fintech App based in Belgium, has announced the successful completion of its seed round, raising €500,000 for European expansion and to further enhance its offering for its customers.
Co-founders Thomas Ketchell and Yoran Brondsema were worried about their financial future and that of their peers. So they built Curvo, the easiest way for young Belgians to save for their future and beat inflation thanks to ETF investing. Curvo complements traditional Belgian pension schemes and has been created as an alternative to retail investment options provided by high-street banks – which are often inflexible, expensive and plagued by poor customer service.
Curvo, which launched in October 2021, quickly gained recognition thanks to its ease of use, integration with e-ID service itsme, and simple portfolio options. With more than €3 million already invested, it’s one of the fastest growing investment platforms in Belgium and has empowered more than 1,250 people to take control of their own financial journey, allowing for effortless long-term saving and investing.
The round was led by BeAngels and a series of experienced investors, including Brice Le Blevennec (Emakina), Olivier Verdin (AppTweak), Sabba Keynejad (Veed) and Nicolas Hulsmans (Dexerto). InvestSud also completed the seed round.
Thomas Ketchell, co-founder of Curvo, said: “Our vision is to transform the way people engage with their finances and think about their future, and we’re delighted that our new business angels are joining us on our journey.
“Thanks to this seed round investment, we’ll be able to reach even more people in Belgium and beyond, providing the tools they need to achieve their own financial wellbeing. This is a hugely exciting day!”
Brice Le Blevennec, investor (Emakina), said: “Curvo’s innovative service is disrupting traditional offerings in the personal finance sector in Belgium, and I’m excited about the opportunities for growth across the EU.
“I’m delighted to be supporting at an early stage and look forward to working with Thomas, Yoran and the other angel investors to help Curvo to fulfil its huge potential.” Curvo is currently available for all Belgians and can be downloaded from the App stores.
