Former Citigroup President and Chief Operating Officer John Havens Joins Money360 Board of Advisors

Money360, a technology-enabled direct lender specializing in commercial real estate loans, today announced John Havens has joined its Board of Advisors. Havens will help shape strategy and business development plans to further accelerate the growth of Money360 and its subsidiary, M360 Advisors, an investment management company that manages diversified portfolios of senior debt investments secured by first-priority liens on income-producing commercial real estate.

Havens is a seasoned leader in the investment management and financial services industries. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Citigroup Inc., and was instrumental in stabilizing the firm in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. Prior to that, he served as Chairman of Citigroup Alternative Investments LLC following Citigroup’s 2007 acquisition of Old Lane LP, a multi-strategy hedge fund and private equity fund Havens co-founded in 2006. Before joining Citigroup, Havens held various roles with Morgan Stanley over almost two decades, ultimately ascending to the role of global head of the institutional equity division and a member of the firm’s management committee. Havens has served on the Board of NASDAQ and numerous other financial industry organizations. He currently serves as the Chairman of Napier Park Global Capital, a global alternative asset management platform with approximately $11 billion in assets under management.

“In a few short years, Money360 has matured into an established innovator in the commercial real estate sector, serving an important financing role for a largely underserved market,” Havens said. “Investors in M360 Advisors’ diversified fund vehicles benefit from returns that exhibit minimal volatility and low correlation to other asset classes and benefit from significant collateral protection. I look forward to working with the company to continue building its presence within the institutional investment community.”

Money360 recently surpassed $800 million in loans closed since inception, which includes $82.5 million in loans closed in May 2018. The company continues to grow geographically, adding new talent to develop financing solutions for commercial real estate owners across the country. M360 Advisors works with institutional investors, family offices and wealth managers interested in short duration, non-correlated, stable fixed-income returns.

Money360 founder and Chief Executive Officer Evan Gentry said, “John’s extensive experience in banking and finance are an ideal fit for Money360. As the fund vehicles offered by M360 Advisors are becoming of increasing interest to institutional investors in this rising rate environment, John’s expertise will help us expand our presence and effectively navigate our next stage of growth.”

Havens joins other Money360 equity investors and advisors including Todd Ruppert, former CEO and president of T. Rowe Price Global Investment Services; Ron Suber, President Emeritus and Senior Advisor at Prosper; John Maute, former co-founder of Helios AMC, senior managing director of Situs Holdings and a senior executive with GMAC Commercial Mortgage; and Hugh Ross, a former business executive with BP, Morgan Stanley and Glencore.
