It’s all happening in Singapore

To kick us off, Pat Patel tells us about the launch of MAS’s Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN) which is hoping to expand the great work of its forerunner Elevandi.

It’s a really fascinating insight into the work the Singaporean authority is doing to further tech innovation in the region and beyond and provides us with a look into all the exciting activity taking place at the SFF.

The Funding Landscape

We’re pleased to be able to include some leaders and mavericks in the VC space, including Andre de Haes from self proclaimed maverick fund Backed VC and female founder focused Fund F. There’s also The Venture Collective telling us why they focus on the lofty goals of world preservation and human improvement. Editor Sue Scott also looks at what’s happening in the North of the UK, often forgotten about when it comes to funding and investment. Fintech North is hoping to rectify that and we take a look at some interesting startups hoping to break out of the scene.

Payments revolution

There’s a number of interesting payments focussed fintechs in this issue too. From relatively new startup Torus who are shining a light on card fees for merchants and BR-DGE who take an important role in delivering payments orchestration.

TerraPay’s Ram Sundaram also lets us know how powerful mobile wallets could really be if interoperability is solved. And we return to DACH with Nexi for another edition of their Nexi Roadshow. This time, in Munich, we find out how important it is to provide a diversity of options to this unique region.

You can read more payments focussed interviews in our most recent Paytech Magazine.

Finance new and old

We’ve also got a range of views from banks such as Kroo who are attempting to disrupt the landscape and the likes of Lloyds and ING offering their perspectives on using AI effectively in banking. That’s part of a panel with BBD, a software company who are using LLMs to provide new services to customers.

We find out about SME lending for banks from Finastra who believe they have the tools required to make that notoriously difficult area easier.

For those who want to know about the latest in blockchain technology innovation, our interview with Chainlink should provide you with all the latest use cases. They wonder whether we could have avoided the financial crash, had financial institutions had access to this technology.

In the trading world we have Devexperts talking compliance and Andaria are an exciting startup aiming to grow their embedded finance offering to create the future of football.
