Momentum Series Launches Second Book on Gen Y and Gen Z Builders Re-defining Technology, Leadership and Purpose for Insurance and Banking

The emerging Momentum Series continues its exploration of diverse changemakers with the release of its second book, Super Ys and Zs. The book spotlights Millennials and Gen Z innovators in insurtech and fintech who are rewriting the rules of technology, leadership, and mission-driven company building, to elevate the trajectory of insurance and banking industries.

Published by Bobbie Shrivastav and Dr. Renu Ann Joseph, Momentum: Super Ys and Zs profiles 15 startup founders, building 8 companies in North America, South America, Asia and Europe. Many of these founders fell into their respective industries, without an insurance or banking background. But they took the road less travelled of understanding the problem first, and then re-imagining it, with the most appropriate use of technology.

“A key theme that stands out with these builders, all digital natives – is how effectively they blend technology and the human sentiment – to keep the product client-centric.” says authors and founders, Bobbie and Renu. The learnings from the stories will be valuable for insurance and banking, both in terms of talent acquisition and for new product development.

Following the success of their first book: Makers and Builders which was launched at Insurtech Connect Vegas in October 2024, Super Ys and Zs had a grand debut at the same conference a year later sponsored by industry veterans and enthusiasts. Makers and Builders followed the stories of 10 female insurtech founders in North America and Europe who, along with solving insurance problems around claims, analytics and products, break barriers in building companies and raising funds.
