Ecommpay Recognised for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Harrington Starr Top 1% Employer Awards

Inclusive global payments platform, Ecommpay, has secured the coveted Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative award in the Harrington Starr Top 1% Employer Awards.

As Miranda McLean, Chief Marketing Officer at Ecommpay explained, the win provides important endorsement for the company’s commitment to delivering financial inclusion.

“Since relaunching our brand in September 2024, Ecommpay has been on a mission to achieve financial inclusivity both for our own business and for the activities of our customers. We are, therefore, delighted that this effort has been recognised by the Harrington Starr Top 1% Employer Awards.

“We put inclusivity front and centre – for our people; for our customers and for their customers. In the last 12 months we have shifted the dial considerably, extending our partnerships with EWPN, EdenChase, the RNIB and Project Nemo,  to raise awareness around inclusion in all senses (race, religion, gender, disabilities) both internally and externally.”

Key initiatives recognised by the award include the delivery of a range of training programmes for colleagues and merchants that enable them to operate with inclusivity at the fore. This includes Neurodiversity awareness training and unconscious bias and inclusive recruitment training. Ecommpay has also joined the Disability Confident Scheme and sponsored workshops for colleagues and merchants to achieve Tier 1, 2 and 3.

Accessibility has also been a priority for Ecommpay.  As part of its re-brand, colours and the website templates were all designed with accessibility front & centre and in line with the WCAG guidelines. Plus the company is working towards gaining the Visibly Better Employer scheme from the RNIB.

“Ultimately, Ecommpay aims to improve accessibility and financial inclusion for all consumers and merchants,” added Miranda McLean. “Projects involving such significant investment generally focus on increasing sales as efficiently and effectively as possible, to increase the ROI. However, Ecommpay’s focus is on delivering the best and most accessible customer experience possible. “
