Credit Europe Bank improves usability of payments in a mobile app with scanning technology by Smart Engines

Member of FIBA Group, Credit Europe Bank (Russia) Ltd. has integrated a software product Smart Code Engine for QR codes scanning in a mobile app. With its help, bank customers are able to make various payments by QR codes, such as bills, invoices, receipts and fines.
To perform payments a customer just needs to show the QR code to the device’s camera, the code will be automatically scanned and all the necessary data will be entered in the payment form. The Credit Europe Bank mobile app is very easy-to-use, as the users are not obliged to look for a convenient angle or any special lighting conditions for better recognition. Smart Code Engine provides successful code scanning even in case if it is damaged or deviates from the standard.
Smart Code Engine is developed by Smart Engines scientists. These AI-based algorithms capture data from linear and matrix barcodes as QR, AZTEC, PDF 417, DataMatrix, CODABAR, CODE_39, CODE_93, CODE_128, EAN_8, EAN_13, ITF, UPC_A, UPC_E. Barcode recognition is also supported in the real-time video stream and on photos. The software performs all calculations on the user’s device, ensures the client’s personal data privacy and does not distribute it to third-party services.
“We admit that with the remote services, it is easier and more convenient to manage personal finances. The Credit Europe Bank app is in great demand among our customers. Thereby, we are permanently improving it and adding new features which make the banking operations management simple and secure. The launching of Smart Engines state-of-the-art product will enable our customers to make payments instantly by scanning the QR code of the document”, – says Alexey Vorobyov, Deputy Division Head of the Digital Channels and Products Development Division at Credit Europe Bank.
“We are proud that our barcode recognition solution is becoming popular and helping more and more users to make payment transactions easily and securely. For us, cooperation with Credit Europe Bank is an important confirmation that leading financial organizations need high-quality and secure recognition technologies”, – states Dr. Vladimir Arlazarov, CEO at Smart Engines.
