Commbank Apps For Smartwatches Now Available For Customers

Commonwealth Bank today released its CommBank app for smartwatches. CommSec has also introduced an app for the Apple Watch adding to its suite of mobile and online trading options. According to Paul Rayson, Executive General Manager, CommSec, the new smartwatch app is meeting the evolving needs of CommSec customers to deliver a convenient, secure and personalised trading experience.

“Since the launch of our mobile app, we’re seeing more of our customers use their phone to get market information and make trades. Around 25 per cent of logins and 11 per cent of trades are now performed on mobile devices. Our CommSec Apple Watch app complements our mobile app, allowing our customers to monitor the market and their portfolio when and how they choose,” said Mr Rayson. From today, CommSec customers can view live share market information on the CommSec Apple Watch app. The app will enable customers to:

• view their share portfolio, individual share holdings and cash balances;
• view share watchlists;
• receive share price, volume and news alerts;
• use Apple Glances to instantly view ASX 200 movements; and
• use Siri to get live share prices.

The CommSec Apple Watch app provides convenient access to real time market data, alerts and personal portfolio information. To make a trade, customers have the option of executing via the CommSec Mobile app, website or by phone. The CommBank app for smartwatches offers everyday mobile banking essentials including: ATM locator; view account balances and transactional capability with Cardless Cash enabling withdrawals from CommBank ATMs. iPhone customers can now also securely login to the CommBank app using their fingerprint, making their everyday banking even simpler, convenient and faster. For customers with an iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the Touch ID feature will enable sign in to the CommBank app with their fingerprint instead of a four digit PIN to carry out their banking, including:

• transferring money and paying bills;
• accessing cash from an ATM without a card;
• paying someone via a mobile phone number, email address or Facebook contact;
• placing a Lock or Limit on a credit card; and more.

Customers can update their CommBank app on the iPhone to start using TouchID. The CommBank app for smartwatches is available now for download from Google Play and the App Store. The CommSec Apple Watch app can be found in the App Store.
