CANOPY, THE RENTAL APP, SIGNS EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH GET LIVING

Canopy, the rental app, has partnered with Get Living, the UK’s build-to-rent’ pioneer, as the exclusive provider for Get Living’s resident referencing process.

The agreement marks the next step in a successful partnership for Canopy and Get Living, best known for its 1,500 rental homes in East Village, the former London 2012 Athletes’ Village.

Renters on the Canopy app create a digital profile called a “Rent Passport” and build a Trust Score which verifies everything from their income, creditworthiness, and employment, to their regular rent payments and past references. This means management firms and landlords can feel secure in choosing suitable candidates for their properties.

Get Living now uses Canopy as the sole provider of this service.

Residents can also benefit from Canopy’s “Rent Tracking” product to automatically reconcile their rent payments and improve their credit history using Open Banking technology. Canopy is working with Experian to encourage more lenders to take rental payments into account.

Canopy recently won the first round of the HM Treasury ‘Rent Recognition Challenge’ – the government-led initiative launched in 2017 to get rental payments recognised by lenders and credit agencies.
