Bunq now offers country-specific IBANs and multi-currency function

Dutch challenger bank Bunq offers its customers a new tool with which they can load IBANs from many European countries onto their Bunq app.

The offer is particularly attractive for those who travel internationally, both professionally and privately, and who also want to be flexible financially.

The announcement coincided with the European launch of Update 18, which introduces functionalities aimed at boosting its conversion “into a true pan-European digital bank, after successfully closing the largest round of Series A financing ever obtained. for a European fintech ”, explains the firm.

From September 9th, Bunq customers in Spain will receive a local IBAN so that they can use their account to the full extent – from Seville in the south to Santander in the north of the country. 

This has been possible in Germany since April 2021 and in France since June 2021.

Another new feature enables all customers with a bank account to add IBANs from several European countries to their app. The Bunq Update 18 is now available in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
