Bunq has been added to the Dutch Fair Finance Guide
Dutch digital bank bunq is the first challenger to be included in the banking guide on honestegeldwijzer.nl (EGW).
The EGW (The Dutch Fair Finance Guide) was founded in 2009 and serves as a quality mark that enables consumers to consciously choose a sustainable bank. Banks are assessed independently and on predetermined criteria.

The scores of bunq are also the highest ever for any new entry to the list.
Ali Niknam, CEO and founder of bunq, says: “I’m incredibly proud that we’re the highest new entry to be included! And thanks to many new ideas and insights provided by the Dutch Fair Finance Guide, I’m sure we’ll do even better next year!”

Since 2012 bunq was able to go live across 30 countries and has processed over €433m in user deposits. This was done so without a cent of venture capital funding, something almost none of its competitors have managed.

Ali Niknam, the bunq’s CEO, was an avid programmer since childhood and studied computer science at the Delft University of Technology. He has launched the web-hosting startup TransIP in 2003 when he was only 21 years old. With money from TransIP he founded bunq.
