Azimo offer Fee-free Money Transfers to Mexico to Support Millions in need

Offer allows much-needed funds to get to post-earthquake Mexico

Digital money transfer service Azimo today announces it has waived its fees for money transfers sent to Mexico, following the recent earthquakes there that have killed  hundreds of people, and left millions without basic resources such as water and electricity.

In the days following the earthquake, Azimo has seen a 15% increase in money transfers to Mexico as  people seek ways to get much-needed funds to loved ones and support teams on the ground.

As the situation in Mexico has unfolded, Azimo has decided to  waive all fees for transfers sent to Mexico from anywhere in  Europe.

Azimo’s digital money transfer service enables money to be sent to over 190 countries across the world from any internet-connected device, meaning money can be sent on-the-go rather than having to queue in a traditional money transfer store.  Azimo is also able to offer a full range of delivery methods including bank transfer, cash pick up, home delivery and mobile top up – vital for getting money where it’s needed in the fastest possible way.

Michael Kent, Azimo’s CEO and Founder, said: “Direct remittances to the people of Mexico can be a vital lifeline for those whose lives have been devastated by the earthquakes.  We’re keen to do our bit in helping funds get there as quickly as possible, and a small gesture like removing transfer fees  means that more of the much-needed funds will get to where they can help most.”

This offer runs until midnight of the 1st October. Transfers can be made via the Azimo app which can be found on the Google Play store or Apple store, or via the website www.azimo.com. The offer is unable to be applied to SWIFT transfers.
