An Alternative Take on ‘Financial Futures’ at Fintech360

Experts from PayPal, ConneXionsAsia, Adyen, Tryb and many more take to the stage at new event from unbound Global

unbound Global, the global series of innovation festivals, will ask what’s on the horizon for fintech in Southeast Asia at fintech360 hosted at innovfest unbound on May 4‘th. The satellite conference launches with 10 sessions in which delegates can learn from close to 40 thought leaders over the course of a single day.

Daniel Seal, host of fintech360 and founder & CEO of unbound Global, says: “Digital has moved the goalposts across every sector and even finance, once considered one of the most unassailable markets, is being shaken up by a new generation of digital-first entrants. As such, the lines between finance and technology are blurring and the financial sector in Asia is ripe for disruption.

We’ll be challenging any preconceptions of finance being dry by asking the big questions. For example, how can digital, and particularly mobile, technologies democratise finance, and how can regional fragmentation be overcome to create a global fintech ecosystem?

High profile speakers from across the financial sector will address the big issues, those taking part include: Warren Hayashi, President, Adyen Asia Pacific, Rosaline Koo, Founder & CEO, ConneXionsAsia, Piruze Sabuncu, Head of SEA at Stripe, Rahul Shinghal, General Manager Southeast Asia at PayPal, Veiverne Yuen, Managing Director & Co-Founder, Tryb, and Stuart Thornton, VP APAC at Worldpay.

Issues covered in keynotes, moderated panels and a ‘fireside chat’ will include: new business models, such as mobile-first interaction; new audiences, both in the developing world and how to engage digital natives in more mature markets; how ‘big data’ can be deployed to drive ROI; looking beyond the hype cycle to the future of blockchain; and how legacy industries, such as insurance, can be reinvented by adopting fintech thinking.

Daniel Seal concludes: “innovation isn’t necessarily a physical product, service, or even the tech that drives it. Rather, it is the insight, the expertise and the drive of the people behind it, so at base innovation lies in problem solving.

This is what fintech360 is all about, by bringing together the right people and asking the right questions we are confident this event will offer up real and actionable insights for delegates. However, it is my hope that it will also inspire other entrepreneurs to go out and find new questions to ask, which will then bring about the next evolutionary cycle for the industry.”

fintech360 is one of four ‘conferences within conferences’ to be launched at innovfest unbound 2017. It is Southeast Asia’s largest innovation festival and brings together around 18,000 founders, entrepreneurs, investors, brand marketers and other influencers. Over 200 speakers will represent some of the most innovative brands working across the region. For the full agenda, please visit https://unbound.live/innovfestunbound2017
