“During my time building funding options, I came to realize that there was a very large underserved segment in what is generally called SME. So unpacking that a bit, I would actually say the micro business services segment, the millions of really small businesses is actually pretty well served. It’s a bit of a myth that they’re underserved.”
“So let’s just unpack that a bit. The average high street bank offers a reasonable service to those customers because they can be supported on a consumer banking platform and as much as we may hate on the big banks, they’re actually quite good at dealing with simple customers at a high volume.”
