Allianz partners with InsurTech Wrisk to provide a fully digital customer experience for automotive insurance

Allianz Partners, with its business line Allianz Automotive, which focuses on the global insurance needs of car manufacturers’ customers, has signed a partnership agreement with UK-based InsurTech company Wrisk. The objective of the partnership is to jointly offer new automotive insurance products on Wrisk’s mobile platform, which will be delivered in partnership with car manufacturers at the point of sale. Allianz Automotive is the partner of choice for over 40 automotive brands. The new collaboration brings together the capabilities of Allianz and the mobile solutions of Wrisk.

Stephan Ruby, Chief Sales Officer of Allianz Automotive, highlights: “The partnership will be a catalyser for digitalisation and simplicity. For Allianz Automotive, partnering with an InsurTech like Wrisk gives a tremendous opportunity to offer customer-centric solutions in a transparent and simple way, which is in line with the overall Allianz strategy.”

Wrisk’s mobile platform offers transparent and flexible insurance solutions that adapt to fit to customers’ needs – customers only pay for what they need, when they need it. The opportunity of monthly subscriptions breaks the traditional annual renewal cycle. Additionally, a personalised ‘Wrisk Score’ provides insights into the customers own insurability.

Niall Barton, CEO and Co-Founder of Wrisk, says: “We’re big believers in the insurance industry’s potential for innovation. Working with Allianz Automotive has been really rewarding thanks to their agility and commitment to deliver radically improved solutions for customers. This is a prime example of Wrisk’s strategy to develop collaborations with global insurers who have particular dominance in vertical sectors, where together we can unlock new opportunities for them and their B2B2C partners through a mobile-first, connected customer experience.”

The partnership will initially focus on the UK market. It will further set up the two companies to deliver next-generation car insurance products with agile, on-demand solutions providing the foundation for insurance that will meet the challenges of the future of mobility. Allianz Automotive and Wrisk are working on a roadmap to scale the mobile solutions and to make use of the full potential of this partnership.
