Aer Lingus is first airline globally to offer one-click checkout with Revolut Pay
Aer Lingus today announces the launch of Revolut Pay as a new form of payment on both the Aer Lingus app and website.
Revolut Pay is a quick and secure payment method that allows Aer Lingus customers to complete the checkout process in a single click.
Aer Lingus customers will be able to book flights without the need to input their payment details, by clicking Revolut Pay at checkout on the Aer Lingus website and app. Customers can then approve the payment securely in their Revolut app – which is protected by their passcode or biometric identification.
Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer said: “At Aer Lingus, we are committed to finding new ways of improving our customer’s experience and this begins when booking. Revolut Pay allows our customers to make payments quickly and securely. Its addition to our app and website is part of our efforts to enhance our booking experience by making it as seamless as possible and it marks another step on our digital transformation journey.”
Commenting today, Alex Codina, GM of Merchant Acquiring at Revolut, said:“We are very excited to partner with Aer Lingus and to support Ireland’s flag carrier to simplify their checkout experience so customers can pay for their flights, securely, in seconds with Revolut Pay.”
“We think there is tremendous potential to improve both customer experience and operational efficiency across the travel space, and partnering with a trusted, market leading brand like Aer Lingus is a key step towards further transforming payments in this industry.”
Existing Revolut users can use Revolut Pay and pay via saved cards or directly via their Revolut account balance. Non-Revolut users can either sign up in a matter of minutes or pay just as easily by using saved Mastercard or Visa cards issued by any other provider.
Aer Lingus customers can make payments using any of the 11 currencies the airline accepts.
Revolut is an online bank which has more than 35 million customers worldwide.
