Adyen First to Market With Launch of SAP’s Open Payment Framework, Streamlining Payment Setup for Retailers
Adyen, the global financial technology platform of choice for leading businesses, and SAP, one of the world’s largest enterprise software providers, have announced the successful go-live of the SAP Commerce Cloud, Open Payment Framework (OPF). This new payment solution is designed to eliminate manual payment integrations and streamline the setup and payment service providers (PSPs) management. Freedom Furniture, one of Australia’s leading home retailers, is among the first merchants globally to implement the new solution.
Developed in partnership between SAP and Adyen, the Open Payment Framework allows retailers to accelerate time to market with fully integrated ecommerce payment capabilities. As a pre-built, cloud-native extension for SAP Commerce Cloud, OPF enables seamless deployment, faster reconciliation, and access to Adyen’s full suite of payment methods without extensive development work.
“At Adyen, we’re focused on providing enterprise retailers with scalable, future-proof payment infrastructure,” said Nadia Qureshi, Global Head of Partnerships at Adyen. “Being the first PSP live on OPF reflects our commitment to collaborating with SAP and assisting merchants in modernizing their payments stack with minimal integration effort.”
With over 60 retail locations and a growing ecommerce business, Freedom Furniture’s adoption of OPF positions them at the forefront of digital transformation in retail. The new integration supports the company’s omnichannel ambitions by reducing complexity and time-to-market across the entire payments lifecycle.
“Freedom Furniture is a great example of how retailers can benefit from comprehensive, out-of-the-box integrations between SAP Commerce Cloud and leading technology partners,” said Marcus Schreiner, Global Vice President SAP Customer Experience – Partner & Ecosystem Strategy. “With Open Payment Framework, merchants can accelerate innovation, lower integration costs, and offer their customers a superior and seamless payment experience.”
The Open Payment Framework is now available to SAP Commerce Cloud merchants globally. SAP and Adyen plan to continue their close collaboration on embedded payments across SAP’s ecosystem, including future extensions into AI use cases, customer loyalty and financial services.
