Oracle Expands the UK's Most Comprehensive Cloud Portfolio

Oracle today expanded on its cloud leadership in the UK with the introduction of new Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies to be hosted in its Slough data centre. The range of new services include Oracle Database Cloud Service, Oracle Dedicated Compute Cloud Service, Oracle Big Data Cloud Service and Oracle Exadata Cloud Service. The facility currently serves over 500 UK and global customers with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offerings tailored for private corporations and public sector customers.
The addition of PaaS significantly enhances the services and technologies Oracle is able to offer its customers to help them meet mission critical business objectives. For example, customers will now be able to:
- Rapidly develop, test, and launch applications at low cost
- Achieve greater agility for their businesses without compromising security
- Unleash the power of Hadoop delivered as a secure, automated service that can be fully integrated with existing enterprise data in Oracle Database
- Access a rapidly provisioned virtual compute environment to run applications at scale on the Oracle Cloud.
