Shruti Patel of U.S. Bank reflects on the challenges small business owners face as generative AI continues to evolve at pace.

U.S Bank highlights that many of these owners are already juggling multiple responsibilities, from managing operations to keeping costs down and focusing on profitability; and adding the task of understanding, and adopting new AI tools can feel overwhelming. It’s not just about learning what the technology can do, but also figuring out how to deploy it easily and effectively within their businesses.

Beyond education and adoption, U.S. Bank notes there’s also a deeper, longer-term concern: whether automation and generative AI could eventually replace business owners or their employees. While this fear of job displacement is real, the most immediate challenge remains the rapid speed of technological change and the difficulty of keeping up.
