Intro to Betterfly with Jorge Molina at ITC LATAM

We sat down with Jorge Molina, VP of Insurance for Betterfly, at ITC LATAM in Miami, who told us about the company’s vision for protecting SME employees. Betterfly have developed an employee benefits platform targeted primarily at SMEs. One of the key areas they cover is financial protection and Jorge spoke about a number of related products.

One involves producing a better life insurance policy through analysing healthy habits. They also have innovative products around severe illness and hospital admissions. He also mentions their affordable payment plans and a vision to service an underserved demographic in Latin America.

“The use of insurance policies is not generalised in Latin America. The base of the population pyramid in countries such as Chile, is not protected. So there is a wide protection gap and that is the reason we’re focusing on SMEs. We are trying to reach people who have never had any kind of insurance policy.”

Jorge is also keen to extol the benefits of the conference. “It’s a great opportunity to meet people and partners who share our vision for protecting people and offering profit.” This collaboration is key to helping startups grow.
