The state of InsurTech with Sabine Vanderlinden from Alchemy Crew

At the ITC DIA Europe Community event in Barcelona, Sabine Vanderlinden, CEO Of Alchemy Crew, spoke to Simon Hayes from NextGen Communications at the MAPFRE booth, about enabling corporations and insurance companies to reinvent and adapt their business operating models by collaborating with startup ecosystems. Ultimately, 80% of InsurTech startups are ‘enablers’ so collaboration with incumbents is essential.

Sabine also talks about the factors that are changing insurance, including how firms can use tech to predict events caused by a changing climate and addressing the global protection gap of $1.8 trillion dollars. Of course, there is mention of how generative AI is impacting insurance, the need for responsibility and trustworthiness in that and also how funding in InsurTech has dropped significantly in the last couple of years.
