At the FIX EMEA Trading Conference 2023, we spoke to David Stevens, Chief Revenue Officer at Aquis Exchange. Aquis Exchange is an exchange services group which operates pan-European cash equities trading businesses, growth and regulated primary markets and develops/licenses exchange software to third parties.

“Frequent batch auctions are a very important part of the European trading landscape, and I think that’s going to continue to grow up to 4% of the European volumes. They are a very good solution for clients. For those who aren’t low-latency enabled, they level the playing fields.”

“We introduced our frequent batch auction, which we call AOD, a couple of years ago but we upgraded it last year. We really saw significant volume in the fourth quarter, and that was driven by clients testing and committing volumes to us and we think that will continue.”
