Canvas Conversations with Duena Blomstrom at Banking Renaissance 2023
Check out our latest episode of Canvas Conversations, our series where some of the best and brightest minds in fintech and finance give their insight on the current trends in their industry; all whilst having their caricature drawn by a professional artist. In this episode, FF News’ Ali Paterson sits down with Duena Blomstrom, the CEO of People Not Tech.
“I used to joke that I left financial services. I’m not sure I’ve really left them, but when I left financial services I was surprised by the depth of conversation that happens in other industries when it comes to culture as compared to what happened to banking.”
“I’m absolutely flabbergasted as to what’s happening in terms of senses or urgency that don’t exist. So, if you look at farming, retail or manufacturing they do an incredible amount to figure out how to get their people in order because they’ve bought all the technology, they’ve finished all the servers. So, what they need to do now is make sure that their people are capable to perform at the top of their abilities. It’s a very logical conclusion, it’s just not a conclusion that has reached the bankers yet.”
In a space where digital transformation has dominated the conversation, Duena Blomstrom People Not Tech flips the script—reminding us that culture is the real bottleneck.
